Help with the Claybook pottery journal

Email claybook.app@outlook.com and you'll get a reply within two business days. Claybook is made by one person, so please include your device model, your iOS or Android version, and what you were doing when the problem happened — it genuinely speeds things up.

Backing up and moving to a new phone

How do I back up my studio?
Cloud backup is part of Claybook Pro. Go to Settings → Cloud Backup and sign in with Apple or Google. After that your journal and every photo back up automatically — there's also a "Back up now" button if you'd rather not wait.

I got a new phone. How do I get everything back?
Install Claybook, open Settings → Cloud Backup, and sign in with the same account. Your pieces, glazes, firings and photos are restored in one step. If the restore isn't what you expected, "Undo restore" puts your device back the way it was.

Do I need an account to use Claybook?
No. Claybook works completely offline and keeps your journal on your device. Signing in is only ever for cloud backup — you don't need an account to use the app or to buy Pro.

Claybook Pro

I paid for Pro but the app says I'm on the free plan.
This usually happens right after reinstalling, before the App Store has handed your receipt back to the app. Open the paywall and tap "Restore purchases". If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the Apple ID email you purchased under.

How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so they're cancelled in the store: on iOS open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Claybook; on Android open the Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the period you've paid for ends. There's a shortcut to this in Settings → Claybook Pro.

What happens to my backup if Pro lapses?
Your journal stays on your device and the app keeps working. Your cloud backup is kept for a 90-day grace period so you can restore or resubscribe, and is deleted after that.

Photos and data

Where are my photos kept?
On your device. If you turn on cloud backup they're also copied to our storage so they can be restored — they are never used for anything else, and there are no ads or analytics SDKs in Claybook.

How do I delete my account and everything in it?
Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete account. That permanently erases your cloud backup and every photo we hold for you. It does not touch the journal on your device — delete the app for that.

Something's broken

Bug reports are welcome and genuinely useful. Email claybook.app@outlook.com with what you expected to happen and what happened instead. Screenshots help a lot. If a piece or photo has gone missing, say so plainly and don't delete anything first — it's usually recoverable.
