Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Claybook ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Claybook mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Your Pottery Journal

Claybook stores the data you enter, including your pieces, their stages and notes, glazes and glaze plans, firings, reminders, and (if you use sales tracking) records of pieces you have sold. Photos you attach to pieces and glazes are stored as part of your journal.

Claybook is local-first: all of this data lives on your device. It leaves your device only if you sign in and enable cloud backup (a Claybook Pro feature), in which case it is backed up to our cloud infrastructure (see "Where Data Is Stored" below).

Account Information

An account is optional. Claybook works fully on your device without signing in; sign-in exists only to enable cloud backup and restore.

When you sign in with Apple or Google, the provider shares an authentication token with us. Our servers use it only to verify your identity and then store an anonymized account identifier — we do not store your name or email address. When you sign in with Apple you may additionally use Apple's private relay email; we never see your Apple ID or password.

Usage Analytics

Claybook contains no analytics or tracking SDKs and shows no ads. We do not collect usage analytics.

Subscription & Purchase Status

We receive subscription and purchase status from the Apple App Store and Google Play via RevenueCat. This includes whether you have an active subscription or lifetime purchase, tied to an anonymized user ID. We never receive your payment card details.

Device Permissions

The App may request access to your camera and photo library (to photograph your pottery) and permission to show notifications (for kiln and drying reminders you schedule yourself). We only access these when you actively use the relevant feature, and reminders are local notifications — we do not send marketing push notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Where Data Is Stored & Sub-Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Claybook:

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the sub-processors listed above, as necessary to operate the App, or if required by law.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your journal lives on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. If you use cloud backup, your backup is retained while your Claybook Pro subscription is active. If your subscription lapses, your backup remains available to restore during a 90-day grace period, after which it is automatically deleted from our servers.

You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the App (Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and permanent; your local journal stays on your device.

To request deletion by email, contact yyousef7901@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Claybook is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission and access controls on our cloud infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. International Data Transfers

Claybook is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries where our sub-processors operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
